Number 2!

Hii! I'm in school right now doing this blog post and it's a Friday finally. This week literally felt nonexistent, it went by so fast. Either that or I really just didn't do anything so it felt way faster (I didn't do anything). I'm sitting next to Sofi right now and shes doing the Title and Production scene but since I pretty much finished all the editing I had to do, I'm doing this blog. The second CCR question is "How does your product engage with audiences, and how would it be distributed as a real media text?" which, in my opinion, is the most difficult CCR to answer. Just like the first question, this question also has 2 parts that I need to answer within my CCRs.

How does your product engage with audiences?

My movie engages with my audience by knowing the target audience of the film, following or rejecting conventions of my genre to make it interesting and appealing to my target audience, using camera and filming techniques to make my movie visually appealing, and posting about the movie on social media to gain the attention of my audience and allow them to interact with the movie.

Abiding by the wants and needs of the target audience can greatly affect how the movie will interact with my audience. By utilizing all the methods listed above, I can maximize my engagement with my audience, which can lead to more overall views of the movie and gain more traction for the film.

How would it be distributed as a real media text?

There are many options for distribution as a small media director if this were to be published as a real media text. One of the main websites where any kind of media can be posted is YouTube. YouTube is available to anyone and everyone as long as they have access to the internet, which makes it a perfect place to publish the film so people can find out about it. The downside is, it's hard to gain traction on YouTube since tens of thousands of videos are being posted every day. Anyone will be able to access my film if it was posted on YouTube, yet chances are, not many would see it.

Another option is showing a single screening of my movie at my local movie theater. This is something that can be done by talking to the owner or manager of this small theater and discussing to have the movie play at any time. This can gain the attention of more people initially and have more people see it from the start, but, it won't reach many people outside of my tone and will still stay unseen and unheard of by many and most people.

I would probably decide to do both options! Post it on YouTube and have it shown at my movie theater so at least a few people see my movie. Though I know many people probably wont see my movie, doing both can widen my range of potential viewers and get people to actually watch the movie!
